Abraham Jaquez, Ed.D., was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of the Baptist University of the Americas on July 20th, 2017. He became the 8th president in the 78-year history of the university. Since Dr. Jaquez assumed the Presidency at BUA, the university has experienced significant accomplishments in advancement, financial solvency, and strategic and master planning of the university’s future. Those accomplishments include positioning the university in a debt-free posture, relocating the school to its 68-acre campus, and completing a Strategic Plan for the next three years. Jaquez has extensive experience in Non-Profit Executive leadership and a 24-year ministry career.
Dr. Jaquez earned his doctorate in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University, Master of Divinity with biblical languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration—marketing from West Texas State University.
Jaquez has been married to his wife Kelly for 30 years, and they are proud parents of two children, Gabriel and Faith.
